Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Decklyn Inc. ("Decklyn", "we", "us") handles the personal information you share with us when you use the Decklyn service at getdecklyn.com. We have written it to be readable, not just legally complete.

Decklyn is a presentation creation product. We use the information we hold to run the service and for nothing else. We do not sell it and we do not use it for advertising.

We collect only what we need to make Decklyn work for you:

• Account information: your name, email address, and a secure credential used to sign in.
• Deck content: the topic, audience description, and any outline you provide as input. The generated deck output: outline, slide copy, narration script, generated slide images, and narration audio files.
• Usage information: which decks you have made, when you made them, and your current monthly usage count. Used to enforce plan limits and to improve Decklyn. Not linked to the content of individual decks.
• Brand kit (Pro and Team): your chosen brand color, preferred narration voice, and optionally a logo. Stored so Decklyn can apply them to every deck you make.
• Communications: messages you send through support forms or by email.
• Billing information: if you subscribe to Pro or Team, your card details are handled directly by Stripe and never pass through or are stored on Decklyn's servers.

When you make a deck, your topic and audience are processed as follows:

• Your topic and audience text is sent from your browser to a Decklyn server route over an encrypted connection. The server calls the OpenAI API with this input to generate the deck outline, slide copy, and narration script as structured JSON. Your OpenAI API key lives server-side and is never exposed to the client.
• Short slide descriptions from the deck output are sent to the OpenAI image API to generate one visual per slide. The resulting images are stored with your deck.
• The narration script is sent to the ElevenLabs API to produce the spoken voiceover. Audio files are stored with your deck.
• At no step does Decklyn send personal account information (name, email) to OpenAI or ElevenLabs. Only the deck content input and the generated intermediate text are sent.

Neither OpenAI nor ElevenLabs is permitted to use data we send them for training or improving their public models. We have data processing agreements in place with each.

We use a small number of third-party services to operate Decklyn:

• OpenAI: generates the deck outline, slide copy, narration script, and slide images. Data sent: your topic, audience, and intermediate slide descriptions.
• ElevenLabs: converts the narration script into spoken audio for the deck voiceover. Data sent: the narration script text.
• Stripe: processes payments for Pro and Team subscriptions. Data sent: billing information you enter at checkout. We never see your card number.
• Neon (or equivalent cloud database provider): stores your account, deck content, and generated assets securely at rest.

We maintain a current list of subprocessors and will notify you before adding a new one that processes your deck content. Questions about subprocessors can go to privacy@getdecklyn.com.

We use the information you share to:

• Generate your deck: write the slides, design the visuals, and narrate the whole thing.
• Store your decks so you can revisit, edit, present, and share them.
• Keep your account secure and enforce plan limits.
• Send receipts and billing notifications if you are on a paid plan.
• Respond to support requests.
• Improve Decklyn's features using aggregated, anonymized patterns. We do not use your individual deck content to improve the service.

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not build a profile of you to sell or share with third parties.

You have the following rights regarding your information:

• Export: download a JSON copy of all your deck content and account information from Settings at any time.
• Deletion: delete individual decks or your entire account, including all associated content, from Settings. Deletion is permanent.
• Correction: update your name and email address from Settings.
• Objection: contact us to ask questions or object to any processing described in this policy.

To exercise any of these rights, use the Settings page in the app or write to us at privacy@getdecklyn.com. We will respond within 30 days.

We keep your account information and deck content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal information and all deck content within 30 days.

Some records, such as billing history, may be retained for longer where the law or a legitimate business need requires it. Anonymized usage aggregates are retained indefinitely but cannot be traced back to you.

Decklyn is not intended for anyone under the age of 13. In the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, Decklyn is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below those ages. If you believe a child has created an account, please write to us at privacy@getdecklyn.com and we will delete it promptly.

We protect your data with encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, strict access controls, and isolated database storage. API keys for OpenAI and ElevenLabs are stored server-side only and are never exposed to the browser.

To report a security concern, write to security@getdecklyn.com.

We will update this policy when our practices change in a meaningful way. We will notify you by email and by posting the updated policy with a new effective date. Continued use of Decklyn after an update means you accept the revised policy.
